More serious causes of power loss may include:

Sensors malfunction – camshaft, oxygen, crankshaft, and more
Actuators malfunction – spark plugs, ignition coil, fuel pump, injectors
Mechanical malfunction – compression, air filter, fuel filter, clogged exhaust.

Your car may lose power for many different reasons. Before heading off to the mechanic, check your air filter and exhaust pipe to ensure they are not blocked in some manner. If your car is losing power while driving and the car jerks when accelerating then make sure the following parts function properly:

Low Compression
Clogged Fuel Filter
Dirty Air Filter
Clogged Exhaust Pipe
Camshaft Position Sensor
MAF Sensor Malfunction
Oxygen Sensor
Faulty Fuel Injectors
Bad or Weak Fuel Pump

Last time my 2009 Chevy traverse told me that the engine is losing power, shut down the engine .
I checked what was wrong with it, I found out that the heater hose pipe was broken .
I took it to the Chevy Dealership and I was told that it is a big deal, so we have to replace spark plugs, cleaning fuel injectors and the cost is $ 1800 .
I said : no ....
And I took it back home with two truck that asked me $ 70 .
I looked for the hose pipe for $ 10 and I replaced it . And it is running properly .

Believe it or not, my town car had loss of power on acceleration and it turned out being a mud dobber had built up a nest inside the 3" air intake in the grill area blocking the flow. Who would have thought!

Hi, i have a weird question, but first, i shall give info. I have a 2010 peugot 308 mk2, 1.6 litre diesel, 254, 000 miles. Since i owned it the car was always sluggish, i suspect the turbo is just done and needs replaced, around 3 weeks ago my DPF filter light came on, i ignored it for a week then got it cleaned but before that, the car got real smokey especially when cold, same low power, it didn't get any more sluggish. It was like that last week after the filter was cleaned, but all of a sudden yesterday, when i had to a real quick take off to not cut off the first car in a line of traffic, the car all of a sudden found itself like 20 more horsepower, it was so weird, i felt it get up to 60 real quick and I was surprised, happy and confused, I had a fun drive to work with its sudden power miricle but i am worried this is a major issue and it could have consequences. The timing belt is very new, no leaks anywhere on the engine. French cars are so weird man.

Mine is a hyundai Getz, when driving all is well but when i stop on a traffic light or just slow down because of traffic or whatever. Accelerating from there its a problem its as if im doing nothing even though i would have stepped on the accelerator

Good day, I have a jeep compass model 2014, my problem is that when driving the inside lights keeps switching on and off. So, I have a 2010 1.6 TDCI Focus, I've just had the EGR and fuel filter replaced because of intermittent loss of torque. All seemed fine after the new EGR was fitted 2 months ago but it's started doing it again, what can be causing my intermittent loss of power but switching the engine off and restarting it cures it for a while?

My car (Toyota vitz) won't start properly. There's no power in one of the coils for plugs. It sometimes start but won't accelerate also it vibrates and suddenly goes off(engine)

My car was changed engine, now i cannot recharge freon because its stop the engine .what is the major problem sir? Car model 2002 Honda accord.And even on driving on idle mode its turn off the engine.
