Pro tip, if you use belana etcher or another similar piece of software to install Ventoy on your thumb drive, from then on you can just toss whatever isos you want into your thumb's ventoy partition, and when you boot you'll just get a list of isos to boot from. Basically, you can stick any or all linux, windows, livecd, whatever distributions on a single thumb drive without dealing with the etcher process or managing partitions.

once the GPU is passed through (eg, at 28:46), it may help to set VM > Hardware > Display to None which should force the physical GPU to be the only one. The login screen should show on the monitor, and you won't need to mirror the screen

For those who experience it - if you happen to get "stuck" at 3% while it creates LVs during ProxMox installation, be patient. Seriously, could take around 5 to 30 extra minutes at times. Just be patient. It WILL start moving again.

Great instruction! Suggestion on YouTube vids have a black gutter bar so when pausing or going full screen the video controls don't block the top and bottom portions. Like when you cleared the screen and typed in commands. When pausing the stupid YT covers the screen and you cant see. Same thing happens across the bottom. . . Re-watch and pause as you go, you'll see what I'm spit'n... I suggest using larger font too. Worked perfect. Deb is solid!

I enjoyed your video a lot. Despite the sound and picture quality not being perfect, the content more than made up for it. It's great to see a video without an overly flashy background showcasing all your gear. I plan on trying out the Monterey install soon. I do have one question though - is it necessary to pass through the entire GPU, or can we pass through just certain parts of it, such as 4 of 12GB and one external port?

Have followed the part where you installed the OSX vm. I did my OSX vm install from a different guide, but I always got stuck at PCI Configurator when the OSX was booting with GPU passthrough and Display set to none. Finally the way it did work was at minute 24:47, I did have Primary GPU and PCI-Express ticked. By unticking those two OSX was starting properly. Small detail but huge problem that was. Thank you for the video.

Hey Harvey’s what a nice video, finally a real video of the new way of hackintoshing that explain what we want (a hackintosh).
Great job !

However, I just have two question :
- I tried to built my hackintosh with the new way 2 weeks ago and each time, after selecting mac os in opencore during booting, my screen just go black and the vm doesn't boot up :/
I saw on a comment on this videos that some gpu are not supported. Are you having a list of gpu who's not supported with this type of installation ?
Or can you simply tell me if my gpu isn't supported ? (R9 380 amd, yes pretty old 😅)

- You can start the vm during proxmox bootup but for the shutdown, can we shutdown the computer when the vm is shutting down ?

Can't seem to get past the fs0 command stage. When I enter it, the Apple logo appears and then almost immediately the VM seems to restart and it jumps back to the UEFI Shell / Reset NVRAM screen. At what point in the fs0 command stage do you use the ALTGR + # key combination? I'm applying it after entering the fs0 command as I assume it simulates a native Macs startup key commands?

So far I have had no joy with both monterey or ventura. When I get to the boot, I don't see the two icons pop up for UEFI shell.. then in the shell, you have a FS0 and a FS1.. I only have a FS0.. but at present i can't figure out what device is wrong.

Worked as intended.. Your ste-by-step guide was great..Fortunately for me I already use and have Proxmox, so was less intense to follow. My only issue is is that via the "console/vnc" ON Proxmox to the VM, it is just slow as all sin, not even usable. I even upped the memory to 64G. So, that's a definite no no as far as using. I then through Windows 11 try to VNC in, and in Mac I tried both remote desktop and then screen sharing, set password to test123. Nothing I do on Win 11 allows me to VNC in, keep getting incorrect security. Well, I tried! My issues are not others issue, so I hope others fare better.

I have a PC with an Intel i5 11th gen CPU that has 6 cores and 12 threads and 32GB Ram. I want to use mainly xcode in macOS.
I have 2 questions
i) If I follow this process then how much CPU cores and RAM can be allocated to the macOS virtual machine? Provided I only want to create macOS only on top of proxmox.

ii) Currently I don't have any GPU so what GPU to buy for a successful pass through to the macOS machine?

And plenty of storage.

Now the question is, Should I follow the entire process and give it a try ?? Cause the old hackintosh method doesn't support on nvidia 16 series.
What should I do ?
