"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings"

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a 2021 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics featuring the character Shang-Chi. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the 25th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay he wrote with Dave Callaham and Andrew Lanham, from a story by Cretton and Callaham. It stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi alongside Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang in her film debut,[2] Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, and Tony Leung. In the film, Shang-Chi is forced to confront his past after he is drawn into the Ten Rings organization.

A film based on Shang-Chi entered development in 2001, but work did not begin in earnest until December 2018 when Callaham was hired. Cretton joined in March 2019, with the project fast-tracked as Marvel's first film with an Asian lead. The film's title and primary cast were announced that July, revealing the film's connection to the Mandarin (Leung) and his Ten Rings organization that appears throughout the MCU. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the first Marvel Studios film with an Asian director and a predominantly Asian cast. Filming began in February 2020 but was put on hold in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production resumed in August before completing in October. Shooting occurred in Sydney and San Francisco.

Tony Leung is a legend. He was the man in the 80s to early 90s Hong Kong dramas. Great to see him be recognized in western films. I think he was the best character in this movie.

Tony's role as Shang-Chi's father was PERFECT.. just the way he presented himself so sincerely with his eyes and facial expression.

Tony basically is the Ten Rings, because he is the LEGEND.

He gave Wenwu so much depth, blurred the line between good and evil, right and wrong. In the end, sometimes good people do bad things and bad people do good things. Yin and yang. Such is life.

I'm only watching Shang Chi for Tony Leung. I hope he gets more roles in more mainstream Hollywood movies. LOVE HIM.

I hope people here in the States start to realize that they are watching a living legend at work. This guy is an award-winning actor and the only reason Marvel had such a relatable villain in this movie.

Tony Leung is a well known introvert. He seems more "talkactive" and bubbly in this interview. This shows that he truly enjoying working with his team at ShangChi.

As much as I'm excited for simu I'm sorry Tony Leung is the one I'm most hyped about. Loved him for decades in his films...but also his demeanor professionalism and low profile drama free personality is so captivating. He's got such charm and charisma...he doesn't need muscles for me to find him attractive he just is. 😍

Tony Leung is such a genuine and nice person. The man who can tell an entire story with his eyes. He's an international treasure.

I'll call it here, he should get Marvel's first nom for Best Actor. And with this villain from a blockbuster superhero movie, he has a legit chance of winning.

He’s so intimidating even when he is nice. Let him do whatever he wants. He can play a villain and hero at the same time.

He is a legend… and I love it so much. His last scene made me cry like a kid. Because at the end, he truly embodied that Asian father image, always sacrificing till the last breath for his children.

I wish they'd let him speak in Cantonese, he feels more comfortable and is more expressive.
