My favorite moviestar and the sole reason why I watched this.

This goes to show that as hard as he is, he is actually fair and loving. He put his son through hell to turn him into an efficient fighting machine. But he did let him live his life to do what he always wanted, and looked after him all throughout. Besides, its good that he did make sure hed survive the world before letting him off

Despite of all his imperfections, he is really a very loving father and husband.

Despite Wenwu being a sympathetic villain, this is the same guy who gives orders to Raza (A Ten Rings leader in Iron Man 1) to attack and bomb villages in Afghanistan. This is why Shang Chi barely has any sympathy for his father.

I really like the scene because Xu Wen Wu is accidentally making himself the proper Mandarin in-title because he reminds people who never ask about it that he's not called "The Mandarin" so often that he's effectively presenting himself to everyone as "The Mandarin" but in a negatory way.

Which again makes sense from his story arc perspective because just like he couldn't leave the ancient past behind, he couldn't leave something as recent as the "Fake Mandarin terrorist plot" behind and kept "complaining bragging" about it as often as he could.

My friend, who did not like the change with the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, saw this scene as a way of fixing it. Now he can’t watch any of the Iron Man films the same way
