In V6 We Trust! Most Reliable V6 Engines Ever

The V6 engine is one of the best engine designs of all time, offering the perfect blend of performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Throughout history, the V6 engine often gets overshadowed by screaming V8s and big, brawny V12 engines. The dedication to V8s in American muscle cars and V12 engines in European supercars was so fervent that most enthusiasts looked down on the V6 engine in the old days. However, tighter emission standards during the '70s gave the V6 engine a chance to shine and even outstrip its older and lackluster ancestors.

Combined with modern technologies like direct injection and forced induction, the V6 engine is as capable – if not better – than some of the best four-, eight-, and twelve-cylinder engines. It completely shuns the lowly four-cylinder engines, and its smaller size means it achieves better fuel efficiency than traditional V8s and V12s while still generating incredible power in sports cars, sports sedans, SUVs, and other mainstream cars. It is also less expensive to produce than the bigger multi-cylinder engines, making it the best engine design for budget-minded enthusiasts.
Today, there are many V6 engines to choose from, but some are money pits as they will bankrupt you with maintenance and repair bills.

Where is Toyota's 1GR-FE? I've got 170k on the clock. And this is still far from it's limit

Ah the V6. A perfectly capable engine that no one wants to tune just so they could hate on it.

I know that inline 4s were considered a total joke until Honda came up with their K series. Only a matter of time before someone figures out the right formula that will make a V6 that will surpass a 2JZ. Thing is, it's so stigmatized that no one wants to so it'll be a while.
