B.S. I got a ticket while traveling through Virginia near Richmond. Trooper had no ticket or evidence. Judge handed him a photocopy or something. I asked the Trooper if he remembered anything from the event. He said no. I objected to the evidence because the only evidence presented was from the Judge. i objected on hearsay. I asked for dismissal based on failure to provide any evidence. I was found guilty. I asked for appeal based on Judicial misconduct. Met with prosecutor a few weeks later and asked for a Jury trial. He said the Trooper was going to add to his testimony. BS ... The Judge was the prosecutor !!! Justice system = Revenue system ....

Thank you. Your video helped me organize my defense in my own NYC hearing. Understanding what you have been charged with is incredibly important. Reading the law helped me prepare a winning defense today in NYC. I was charged with: Speed Not Reasonable & Prudent NYS VTL 1180 in 2017 but I kept adjourning it for almost 2 years until today. Cross-examining the police officer without feeling intimidated and making good leading questions was the key. There was no one thing that won the day but the questions and answers used in cross-examination made my final statement, coupled with evidence and request to dismiss a slam dunk. My ticket was dismissed. Thank you. I used your format and today I avoided over $300 in fines, 3 points in my license and increased insurance premiums. Ironically, I had called a lawyer two weeks ago to handle my case but he never called me back to meet for the retainer and I ended up doing it myself.

Thank you for the Information; the best informative and comfortable video I have found on the subject to date. I'm going in to represent myself for a 'no signal lane change' here in Texas and had no idea what to expect once I'm in court. I have a few pieces of paper evidence (map of movement, the Texas transportation code, etc.) and I have totally written out my defense statement so I don't stumble on my thoughts. If there are 100 guilty or no contest people who go before my trial starts (since I will plead Not Guilty), does that mean I will be in there for a couple or several hours?

How does one present a video evidence of the traffic infraction in the court room? Do we need to request a permission from the clerk in advance? What media do we use to bring in the evidence? Do we need the equipment or will the court room have it?

Thank you for this... I have very bad anxiety issues to begin with, and then to receive a citation that includes court sent me into a complete tailspin, leaving me a bawling depressed anxious worry wart. I've never been more scared of something in my entire life, and all it was is that I had a minor traffic accident in Minnesota... I hired an attorney and my attorney said that this is nothing to worry about or lose sleep over, she has no idea that I have very bad anxiety both general and social anxiety I've been curled up in bed depressed feeling anxious and crying... Yeah at 55 yo bawling like a baby. I've never felt so vulnerable in my life. If I receive a fine, that is nothing compared to what I have gone through already. I've learned a lot about myself, and how poorly I cope with stress and anxiety. Having an attorney has helped some, but not fully. Can't wait for this to be over with... 😭😭😭

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you enter any kind of plea or sign waiver for an attorney, you're actually handing over jurisdiction to the court, which you definitely don't want to do.

I understand it is better to file a written declaration, chances are better for winning the case because officers don't get paid to write a narrative in response to your written defense. If found guilty you can request a trial giving you two chances. I think my chances are pretty good because I made a U-turn in an intersection with a sign. I did not see the sign due to a large truck blocking my view and I am new to the area and had never been through this intersection before. What do you think of this plan?
