Rishi Sunak has reversed on his decision to skip the COP27 climate change summit as he announced he will now attend in order to help build a "secure and sustainable future".
The Prime Minister tweeted: "There is no long-term prosperity without action on climate change. There is no energy security without investing in renewables.
"That is why I will attend @COP27P next week: to deliver on Glasgow's legacy of building a secure and sustainable future."
The COP27 conference is taking place in Egypt and Mr Sunak had initially ruled out attending before signalling he could U-turn in the face of widespread criticism.
