Sir Keir Starmer has demanded an apology from Rishi Sunak over ambulance waiting times as the Prime Minister accused the Labour leader of being willing to "say anything if the politics suits him".
Sir Keir and Mr Sunak engaged in furious clashes over the state of the NHS at Prime Minister's Questions as the Labour leader said the premier must say sorry for the current "lethal chaos" in the health service.
Statistics published last week revealed the worst ambulance waiting times on record, with heart attack victims waiting an average of 90 minutes for help to arrive.
Sir Keir told Mr Sunak: "If he won't answer any questions, will he at least apologise for the lethal chaos under his watch?"
But Mr Sunak refused to give ground as he accused Sir Keir of repeatedly breaking promises: "As we have seen this week the honourable gentleman will just say anything if the politics suits him. It is as simple as that. He will break promises left, right and centre.
