DJI Mini 2 Long-Term Review | Still A Good Buy In 2021?

In this video, we are taking a look at the DJI Mini 2 and my experience with it over the last year. As we near the end of 2021 there may be potential buyers that may wonder if it is still a good buy, after all, technology changes quickly and there have been some new sub 250g drones appear on the market from other drone manufacturers. This long-term review is based on one year of flights with the DJI Mini 2 and in my opinion, it is still the best mini drone available at the time of publishing.

I've had my two Mini 2s for 10 months now with no issues to date! I have 5 batteries with 35 cycles on each; therefore I'm not even interested in DJI new models or other name brands. I love the Mini 2!

Nice review. You nailed it right on the head as far as the primary reasons someone would buy one of these. I am a commercial drone pilot and I fly an Inspire and P4P's on a regular basis for mapping applications, and those drones DO blow this one away for professional use (larger sensor and higher megapixels gives better image and video quality). However when I am flying for fun, this is the drone that I use. I love it for it's size and carrying ability (especially for vacations) and its stealthy flying capabilities. As you mentioned, so many people don't like drones flying anywhere near them. This drone disappears. It's no wonder why it is the same color as a fighter jet. Plus, it's almost disposable. If you buy the Fly More kit with the three batteries, the charging bay, controller, etc. and you somehow crash or lose this drone (which I have not done yet), its only about $400 to replace the actual drone itself and you still have all the accessories that don't need to be replaced. For all of these reasons, I am big proponent of this drone.

I just bought one last week and I LOVE it! Compared to its big brothers, the flight experience is near identical. Now, there are only bottom sensors on this, so you have to take extra caution when flying. That being said, I think that reason alone makes it a good first drone because you have to rely on VFR to avoid obstacles instead of sensors. I added the ADH protection plan on mine (HIGHLY recommended). I like how compact it is too. It's so easy to use I'm just going to start including it in video jobs. No more inconvenient than a second camera.

I love my mini 2. It is a strong little beast. I crashed it twice into my house scratched the propellers and bruised and flies like a charm. I recommend it.

This drone held up pretty well to its under 250 gram competition, that was released this year. But I feel the new Autel Nano drone will be its closet competitor yet. The Mini 2 is a great drone for the money. Thanks for doing the long term review on this drone, you did a great job.

Agree with all your comments it’s the best sub 250g drone currently available, I look forward to Autels offering and the potential Mini 3, sub 250g is the way forward for many in the hobby, I fly mine more than any other, regards

The mini 2 will still be relevant in 2022 depending on the price of the Autel fleet
the only thing the mini 2 is missing in my opinion is tracking but for new pilots
it would be obstacle avoidance. But yeah im very satisfied with my Mini 2 all in
all it's a Mini Beast. The quality of this drone gives me confidence when i fly
because simply put it's Top Shelf.

Just ordered one to replace my Mini. Looking forward to Occusync, wind resistance, noise level, RAW and of course 4K. And 2.7K 60, could make for some nice, smooth shots. Considering how good the Mini already is, I'm really looking forward to this.
