I've had my mini 2 for about 3 months now and I have not had one problem, I live in Norfolk, I've flown it at parts of the coast and it coped unbelievably well in the very strong wind, the footage is amazing. I am an amateur and first time flying a drone and my footage looks expert. Interesting video!

Bought mine at the weekend, and really pleased. Crashed it a couple of times in the garden, and thought I had lost it at one point. This was simply my error, in my haste to fly it. It's so small, and reasonably quiet at altitude, that hardly anyone notices it, which is a plus. Operator registration is required, but no test, if you not inclined. I did the online test, as I feel it gives you more cred, should anyone query what you are doing. An hour to read the code followed by 40 very straight forward multiple choice questions (30 correct required to pass), and you are done. Definitely recommend the fly more combo, and possibly investing in 2 or 3 more batteries, if you are planning for a good session with friends or family. Not really got into the camera yet, I just enjoy flying it. Easy to fly, and very few restrictions. Once you get over the impatience of getting it in the air, you can have some great fun with it. If you are still undecided, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. This is my First rc flying thing, and I'm hooked.

I've literally just bought this drone. I'm a complete drone novice, and I have to say that this could not be an easier drone to operate. The firmware has also just been updated to 1.2.2 which has ironed out even more bugs and has added a couple of extras. With the new restrictions coming in, this drone is the only real contender, for the casual, non-pro user. The video quality is breath taking, at this price point.

I just bought one of this, I have it since a week or so and I totally agree with what you say. Great drone, I only had toys drone before, no gps, hard to control. This one I fly at about 1km distance, 50-80m altitude, all went smooth and fine, very easy to control, never loose connection, but as I said is only my first week with it.

I'm in the US and LOVE mine! I'm quite the newbie with it, but I took to it right away!!! I've not had firmware issues at all!

your experience with the app crashing is a good example to everyone for why people should learn to fly manually and get to know your drone before you fly in any risky situations. there is bound to be a time when you have to react fast or do a manual maneuver to save yourself. i have had a few scares in the couple of years that i have flown.

I just buy this drone yesterday and i really enjoy with it...small but powerfull...it is good for beginner..nice drone...hopefully dji make some new updates to it so they can fly longer and better signal

I'm getting 28 and 29 minute flight time averages out of my mini 2 but I broke my battery's in when I first got the drone. I would fly around till flight time hit 3 minutes remaining then I would hover it off the ground right in front of me until it hit 30 seconds remaining then land it on 1 percent battery remaining and I did that for the first 5 flights on each battery and I'm getting crazy long flight times consistently on my mini 2 in normal mode.

I am just in the process of selling my Mavic Air 1 and i will be purchasing a MINI 2, as you say the freedom to fly in the UK makes this the only viable drone unless you only want to shoot video of mountain tops. As a point of note the additional areas that you can fly will be maintained after 2023 whereas if you do the A2 CofC so that you can fly within 50m of people with other legacy drones this ends in 2023 and you will only be able to fly 150m from people.
Great video, it has confirmed my choice to down/upgrade :)

Get the air 2, for a couple of 100 quid more you get active track and let's have it right, having the drone follow you on your adventures is all anybody really wants. Mini 2 is good but they need to release active track with it. The mini 2 would be unbeatable with active track. It's only a firmware update away.

I used to have a phantom 4 Advanced, great drone, but BIG. That said it was really good in very high wind. But this guy is so right for everyday use, family/semi pro work, the DJI mini is perfect! The portability is awsome, packed full of features, and it is quiet too.

One of the other CONS not supported for DJI Flight Simulator, kind of strange when it's touted as a "Great Beginner Drone". If you want to find anything out you have to go to 3rd party for info.

Also on my 3rd flight: I was flying at treetop level about 3 mph and hit a couple small branches, the Mini was tumbling through the branches, still running. It came out of the bottom upside down, about 2' from the ground it flipped itself over and just took off at full speed while climbing. It gained about 30 to 40' altitude and hit a sign a block away (thank God, it had a full battery could have flown for miles). It would not respond to the controls, I also pushed the return home button. I think I might send it back...

Great video. If you have the app crash or phone dead, you are still connected to the drone and can eather manually fly home if you see the drone, or hit the RTH button. If the controler is out of power the drone stops and after a few moments return to home. So that is good to know. And as you showed, if app crashes you can restart the app or phone and get connected to the drone again..

Just got my mini 2 yesterday. So happy with it! I live in a dense forested area and I can literally fly it from my living room flawlessly! Such an awesome little tool which rly packs a punch !
