This is why many girls like me hide our period from our parents for a bit until they find out. This video was relatable!! 😂

Growing up in America my whole life I never realized that people would see periods as such a taboo thing. The time we went for vacation in India I got my first period and I can't even explain the embarrassment I went through. They say that it's such a taboo thing and no one wants to talk about it, then they throw a huge ass party inviting everyone in town. Ugh, thinking back it haunts me to this day smh.

My mom locked me in the room for like 2-3 days, the only best thing I got out of it was missing school 😂🤣

I'm from tamilnadu, it's surprising to know that even tamil girls across the globe are undergoing the same as we do here 😅

When I got my period...I was miserable. This video is too relatable. I felt like my mom was being over dramatic too 😂😂

I am so lucky to have cool parents. They didn’t announce anything to the world. Later I used to get some acne and one of my dad’s colleague ( an aunty ) asked my mom if I had got ‘it’. My mom said no. I am a private person so I appreciate the privacy. My mom really supported me. She made me as comfortable as possible. My father purchased my first pads. I didn’t even understand what I was going through . Back in the days girls didn’t discuss all this with their friends and there was no awareness. I still don’t go to temples when on periods. I will never put this obligation on my daughter though.
One tip : exercising during periods is good. But keep it moderate . You can even have rest for 3-4 days and just go walking for 15 min. Skip exercises that make you strain your belly. Because our pelvic floor becomes weaker during that time .

My family is pretty much open minded, but we get really conservative when it comes to stuff like this. In my case, when I got my first period, the only female that was present in my house was my grandma, who never wore pads in her life. But she had already bought a few packets, just in case I get mine. Since I'm a Muslim, I didn't have to go through any form of special prayer, but for some reason, my grandma did feed me some rice and Apples, saying that it was necessary.
