Mounting a longhorn cow! Longhorn taxidermy.

This is a HUGE shoulder mount. I altered the form slightly along with adding a few custom changes! I’m showing the process start to finish. (Some parts are left out) all in all, this project probably took me 30+ hours to do everything. I even skinned this animal myself after it’s unfortunate passing.

Thank you for watching!

Some of the products I used in todays video can be found here:

Hey Ashley, a quick question, I’m a beginner taxidermist, and some taxidermist suggested some kind of glue and it dries under 3 minutes, what kind of glue would you prefer for me?

Just a little suggestion from a sculptor/carpenter but **Please wear safety glasses and a mask! For the love of god!!** It’ll save you from the foam dust and if that broke jigsaw blade had sent shrapnel flying! You’ve only got two eyes and they’re hella squishy!! 😫

What do you do with all the extra hide you trim off?

aaa please wear eye protection and a mask when sawing that foam!! don't want you to inhale anything or, like you did, get foam in your eye :(

Use a wood hand saw to finish the cut on those large mannikins.
I know you have an air supply, for $25, you can pick up a air stapler from Harbor Freight. The one's I've gotten there have lasted years.

That looks amazing, and I hope to one day share this skill with you! Quick question, What do you do with the assessed after you cut it off the manikin?
