Taiwan begins live-fire artillery drills in response to Chinese military exercise

I notice that the headline.contradicts the story. Were the drills on Taiwan in response to China, or not?

What good will this do? They aren't conducting drills to counter what China is training for. China is clearly planning to bombard the islands defenses from the mainland before even thinking of landing. They've done air superioirity drills, missile targetting drills, checking response time, as well as artillery and shelling from across the straight. They've done very little landing drills, emphasizing on triage and casualty care. If Taiwan is serious, where are their AA drills? ABM drills? Bunker and trench networks? Like this is training to fight an infantry battle when China is planning an asymetrical response.
