➜ Four points of advice for students from Prof. Andersson:
1. Write down 5 sentences about what you want to do before you sketch.
2. Use a dull pencil.
3. Give yourself a time limit.
4. Use a smaller surface.

Hi I'm (hopefully) about to start university in Uppsala SLU in Landscape architecture, and I'm just really excited. I thought it would be mostly by computer but they've given us a list of art materials to buy, which are all used by hand. So it seems even the education here is a lot by hand.

Hello, I am Tawanda from Zimbabwe, I just finished my diploma in Architectural Technology, but along the way I just discovered that, I would feel more comfortable in designing public spaces and has developed a passion in Landscape designing and architecture but the problem comes in that in my country, people rarely value landscape architecture and there are few companies or firms which concentrate in landscape designing. I surely want to explore in this field and what's your advice. Thank you in advance

I would like to work as a landscape architect, but with a focus on Conservation Biology. What do you recommend as the best way to go about this?

I finished my first year studying landscape architecture in the U.S. What would you suggest I can do during my free time to improve my hand drawings? I struggled so much but I enjoyed model making which makes me realize I like the career. What are some things I can work on now that I’m on summer break?

I’m glad the sketch pad wasn’t replaced with technology.

I'm trying to decide whether I should pursue LA or Landscape Design. I just wonder how much I need to know about physics and actual architecture to work in the LA field. I'm more of an Artist mind so I think maybe I should just stick to design. I guess maybe I don't know if I'm smart enough for Architecture.

Looking for an advice,

I'm graduated architect from Puerto Rico, and I'm have been working for a small firm for about two years. I'm also doing a master in Project Manager, but I think that this might not be what I really wants to do. So I'm thinking change mi career to landscape architecture. I really loves public spaces and nature, but Can I work like landscape architecture with a bachelor in architecture? Do you recommend me getting education in landscape architecture better?
Thank you!

PS: great video

i am a new graduated student in Taiwan last year. All the company ask me at least being good at 3DMax and edit the cool render vid to client. Also asking me make the space crowded with pavement and plants instead of understanding my idea of design. This really make me sad.😞

Hello amazing tips and video. I am confused on the difference between environmental design and landscape architecture. Because I am currently majoring in architecture as a bachelor Barch but I want to do landscape architecture later on after university. But the only way to do that at my School is to get a masters after 5 years. Is it better to pursue a bachelors of environmental design which is the closest thing in my school to pursue landscape architecture later ? Or stay in the bachelors of Architecture ?
