My dad passed away in 2017. I did not know praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy during the hour of death for our loved ones is powerful so we just said an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be. I do pray the chaplet now every day for my father, and father and mother in law too.

Father Chris, my dearest Dad came to me in a dream few years ago when I was very sick and lonely, they passed away 11 years ago, then I saw them together, Dad was standing next to Mum, there was a light brighter then the sun, behind my father so I know they are both in Heaven. They were both religious and Mum prayed the Rosary everyday also my Dad.My father said to me not to be sad anymore because they are both in a very happy place.
So from that time when I think of them, it makes me so happy knowing they are in both in Heaven. I include all Souls in purgatory in my daily prayers.

My father died thirty years ago, and I am just concerned where his soul is right now! I wasn’t aware if he received the last sacraments before he passed away! Thank you Fr Chris for the enlightenment that I can still pray for his salvation, and before he meets God on judgment day..

I also think that the soul that is saved actually wants to go to Purgatory to be cleansed. How many of us check the mirror before we leave the house to go and visit our families or friends? How much more will we want to check our souls in the "mirror" before we see our Father for the first time? Plus, our Mother is there with the "mom spittle" to wipe away that last smudge before we enter the throne of the King. :) God bless you Father Chris.

Dear Fr. Alar,
“Forgiveness” on a loved one’s deathbed is bittersweet, but gives hope for eternal peace for the one dying and those left behind. Please pray the soul of my children’s father. After our 7 yr. marriage was annulled, we moved on. He abandoned two of his three children. Thus, I am praying for his soul and for our two children that grew up thinking they were not wanted by him.

On his deathbed he made peace with them. Sadly, he told our daughter that he did not want to return home to live surrounded by hate and anger. He wanted peace and to be with them before he died. He asked for me and I sent a message to be read by our children.

May others learn from this sad story that forgiveness, hope, obedience, and telling someone you truly love them does not have to be done on one’s deathbed. Why wait? I say, “Life is temporary, but hell is for eternity.” Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to say Good-bye. The most unifying gift is prayer. I will pray for his soul and should he have to stop in purgatory or pass go straight into heaven, I know that he will ask our Lord and Our Blessed Mother to intercede for us who are left behind.
