The part where her sister breaks into his house is the most intense scene I’ve ever watched

After being older and watching this again, it literally shattered my heart to realize that all the while they’ve been looking for her, and she was right down the street for the entirety of the movie.

I watched this as a child & it absolutely crushed me, it was my realization that death is permanent. The whole movie I was hoping she'd somehow come back & complete the family again.

The movie portrayed life lessons: (1)Evil people will not get caught by police but nature will get rid of them. (2) Don't be so naive or you will go to grave. (3) Be careful with way- too- nice people who has a vault.

"Nobody notices when we leave. I mean, the moment when we really choose to go. At best you might feel, a whisper or the wave of a whisper, undulating down. My name is Salmon, like the fish. First name: Susie. I was 14 years old, when I was murdered on December 6th 1973. I was here for a moment, and then I was gone. I wish you all, a long, and happy life."

It’s hard to believe that this movie came out 10 years ago now. Which is crazy.

This movie should be a must in every single school in every single country.
Pedophilia and trafficking are the purest form of evil.

When I was 13 I was walking down the street and a red car pulled next to me, it was two scary looking men. We made eye contact and one made me the gesture to get closer to them and the other told me to get in the car. In a matter of few seconds the car got even closer to me and I ran as fast as I could, thankfully all of this happened close to a store and I entered it. I cried and I was so frightened.
I never told my parents, just my husband, when I saw this scene where the poor girl goes underground. I had that flash back and when I have that flashback it always feels so real.
I'm so blessed I ran as soon and as fast as I could, I'm blessed to be a young adult and be a mother and wife and my heart breaks for all the innocent suffering.
If I wouldn't have ran that day I wouldn't be here, I would be a missing girl.

I read the book recently and it's absolutely heartbreaking. It makes you feel so many emotions but the most prominent is regret for the pointless loss of life.

The movie that made Soarise Ronan's career known by the masses. Such a talented actress. Its one of her earlier works. On the flip side, this movie traumatized me as a kid. I was just 10 atm lol so seeing this trailer again made me sad, nostalgic and melancholic.

I was cool the whole movie but the part where all the girls reunite to take susie to heaven and then youngest victim runs towards her and hugs her that made me sob. The sheer emotion and intensity of that scene.

Here’s a funny(ish) story about this film. My mom saw this film, and read the book, and for months afterwards, she wouldn’t let me or my sister walk home. She made sure to come pick us up everyday, despite the fact that it was only a two minute drive. I think that speaks volumes about how effective this film is at traumatising you, and that’s a good thing

The thing that made me really sad is when her parents did not get the justice. They never had a chance to find her bones and get the killer. I am so frustrated every time they were close to the truth but they never got to see it. Like, come on! that murderer that i was looking for all the time is just next to me! And it frustrates me to feel like the police didn't do everything to find out the truth, it's just his father and sister!

I read the book before watching the movie. The book is so descriptive it gives you chills.

Something that I didn’t realize in the beginning when she was at the mall with her family was if you look really closely in the back grounds you’ll see Mr Harvey staring at her /stalking her. She even says it saying I was too distracted to even notice.
