Why Mace Windu SECRETLY Cared for Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars

Even in the legends comics, Windu was always a "tough love" sort of guy.

The prophecy said that he would bring balance to the force but it never said how he would do it.

Yet in Windu’s mind he’s thinking “Boy id be thinking about tapping that too if I was Anakin”

I was expecting: "faith do you have it?"

To me, it was always clear that Windu didn't "dislike" Anakin. He just mistrusted him, and he wasn't completely wrong about it. The older and more powerful Anakin got, the more he ignored some of the basic Jedi teachings. It wasn't just the treatment of the council that pushed him towards the dark side, it was also his own personality e.g. his inability to let go of attachments, his pride, his violent streak, and his arrogance, which he even displayed as a child.

The problem wasn’t Anakin being emotionally attached with his childhood love. It was his proximity to Sheeve Palpatine.

He's a hard man who was really entrenched in dogma but he's not bad or evil. He didn't even dislike Anakin(Anakin didn't really dislike him either), he was just concerned about his control over himself. Anakin was very young and had more power than any or almost any Jedi before him. People would be dumb to not be at least a little concerned.

This scene is the most water I’ve seen in Mace Window’s eyes. That statement came from the heart.

Wish they kept this scene in. Alot of the deleted scenes from attack of the clones really would have brought a lot more to the table and made a more solid well rounded film.

If Windu hadn't believed in Anakin and trusted him, he wouldn't have had his guard down enough for Anakin to cut his hand off.

Seriously this scene is so good they should put it back in all future rereleases of the film!
