Hello everyone! It’s been a long time and I missed you guys. This was a very hard video for me to make, I hope you guys understood my point and watch till the end of this video to know why I did what I did. I want to be clear that I don’t mean to discourage anyone by making this video. My experience was my experience, it can be totally different for you guys. I just wanted to portray that SNU being their main public university and their top one, they were really focused on Korean classes in my course at least. Just like I compared it with Dhaka University in Bangladesh. Your course might be different, your classes might be different. Just because I shared my experience, shouldn’t mean it should hinder your dreams. Everyone’s experience can be different. Don’t be discouraged, chase your dreams, work hard, you got this! I hope you all make a careful decision and it would mean a lot to me if you kept supporting me, sending lots of love 💕

im currently doing me PhD in Atmospheric Science in SNU and i can completely relate to your experience in every aspect. The language barrier is just something you cant deal with. no matter how good you are how well you learn korean, academic korean is not even comparable. i understand korean quite well, but in class there is no difference whether the professor speaks korean or russian cz both are the same for me. what makes it harder is that, our education system in bd can get us good grades but we have too many lacking in understanding concepts.
i am struggling a lot here but i dont want to give this up. i began this and i intend to finish even though things are hard. I really pray Allah gives me the strength to reach the very end and graduate from SNU.
I would recommend anyone who wants to come korea for higher studies, yes you will get to experience so many things you have always dreamt of but keep in mind that those good experiences will be only 5% of your life. the rest of the 95% is very difficult. consider your mental and physical strength to bear with everything alone, and then take your decision.

I am sorry to hear about it. Anyway, I understand your concern and it’s valid. I am working here as a foreign professor and we do face language problem. But what we face is nothing compare to what you guys maybe facing! Whatever decision you took is good as long as you are content.

Girl you're brave and I'm proud of you! As a current student at SNU, it will be made very clear to any international student that this a Korean University for Korean students only!

I hope anyone who considers studying in Korea to check the following prior to applying:

1. Number of international students (its less than 10% at SNU)
2. For muslim students (prayer rooms availability and halal restaurants)
3. Check that the official language of the school is ENGLISH
4. For those going for graduate degrees, check that your lab professor has supervised international students previously and the students actually graduated. If possible, choose a foreign professor.

Korea is a beautiful country for tourism and learning Korean language.

Wish you all the best!

I remember watching your videos for the first time.. the about the application process, the dorm tour.. To be honest, at first I wished I was a student like you..The high grades, the extraordinary eca, getting accepted in the top uni of a developed country.. everything sounded like a dream and I was like Oh! to be her.. I've always had this desire to study Business in a developed Asian country like Japan, Korea, China and so on. I had my eyes on scholarships like MEXT and GKS.. I am not the top student at my institution but I am not as average as well.. Your videos inspired me so much and I'm positive that they will keep doing so in the future as well. I am a student from SSC batch 2023, the results were out a few days ago and Alhamdulillah I got GPA 5.00. I'm changing my subjects from science to business studies; not because I don't have good grades to get into a good collage or because I think i won't be able to do well with science in intermediate but because it's my life and my choices. I'm doing what I want to do; just like you. I did face a lot of backlash from relatives like why shift to commerce, it's not as good as science and so on. But again at the end of the day it's my life after all.
What I'm trying to say is don't be sorry what happened. You took the best decision and as one of your viewer, I'll always be supportive. Take your time. You don't have to make k contents until you're mentally ready for it. We'd love to see a day in the life of a Med Student in BD!
Best wishes for your future! You'll be a great doctor. xx

you explained things so well in the video. i understand your reasons and support it. and i'm glad that you were able to decide what will work best for you before it was too late. not everyone gets to make right choices for them when life in korea already sounds really fascinating (especially for people like us who are very much obsessed with korean culture). and its totally understandable to get flashbacks and feel sad. i hope you'll be able to move on one day and make peace with the past, while keeping the memories of korea in heart and cherish them from time to time. wishing you all the best in life. 💜

I would say it is brave of you to share your personal experiences. I would say be aware of your internal fears. It won't help to be overly concerned with what others think of your decisions even if they may be fans of yours. Remember you're the same person that was qualified with such high regard so you don't need to do any apologizing. Just be the best you you can hope for despite any condition. Remember Allah(S) is always testing the best of us. Make dua and thanks for the video because I actually learned a lot from it. Walaikumsalam!

To be honest, I am surprised they didn’t inform you in any way that the course was mostly in Korean before you started the course or even applied for the course. Normally, if almost all the courses are in Korean the universities would require a certain level of Topik score. Last year I thought I would apply for GKS scholarship in Korea and to be honest I had fair amount of chance of getting it since I also know conversational Korean besides other academics. But after researching a lot I found out that the degree after getting the GKS would be fully in Korean and I realised it was not for me. Because conversational Korean and Academic Korean is two whole different thing. I think you made a great decision considering the odds.

First of all, you said you know korean from 2016 and this is a long period to get a language well so idk how language became a big barrier for you. You already had back up plan or options so you went to korea for get a kdrama type of experience and you should have get through your curriculum before you applied to snu. In this case the mistake was clearly yours. I saw many people go Korea with no korean language skills and did a great job. And you said Korean degree does not hold value in BD. Ofc it won't hold values like MBBS but the reasons you're showing are discouraging for others who want to go Korea for study.
