Very first thing you should mention is that IF you have a VPN, disable it. This immediately worked for me

Good evening everyone what just worked for me was ( I went into Siri and activated the option) “ talk to Siri “ It was off and as soon as I turned on Carplay connected

Thanks so much! Worked on the first try after following your steps. Hopefully, the problem won’t return. In my case, CarPlay performance had been deteriorating over the past week or so. The problem started as a failure of the Next Track button on the steering wheel and the head unit. Then, I was intermittently getting tunes coming through the phone instead of the car speakers. Yesterday, this became a 100% failure rate, and it was difficult to figure out a consistent workaround. So frustrating! After watching your video, I think it’s possible that Vocal Shortcuts was my issue, because I created a shortcut for the flashlight coincidentally about the time of the iOS 18.0.1 update. Deleted and turned off!
