Arnie is a true Tejano treasure. Everything he, his wife and his mama do is out of love of food. Love his simple beautiful presentations.

The neighborhood granny fed us kids good and we all loved her fresh tortillas. Chorizo and egg tacos were my favorite.

My family is also from the Rio Grande Valley. The city of Donna, to be exact. As a child visiting my grand parents, every morning I was greeted by my Great Grand Father Apa Lopez, in the kitchen making breakfast. He used to be a chuckwagon cook. Oh the smell of ranch coffee, a pot of frijoles de la olla, rice and both handmade flour and corn tortillas. When I would return to California, I was sent with a stack of handmade flour and corn tortillas. Not only was my stomach fed, but my heart and soul.

I’ll never forget going to my grandpas mother’s house. We called her little grandma. She was the sweetest old lady she made the best tortillas. RIP 🙏

Love making tortillas, I also roll it 180 for even thickness. Can't stand store bought tortillas. Growing up in Mexico spoiled me.

Maan, these memories of abuelita hand making corn tortillas for us as kids.
Doesn't get better than that.
Especially with some chicharron.

Fresh tortillas really do make a difference! Thankfully where I live there’s such a large Latino population that tortillas are shipped to the stores daily from local factories, and they’re often still warm! El Milagro are the best around here (next to homemade of course).

There's a restaurant here in Phoenix that every breakfast taco they have 2 older Hispanic women rolling and making fresh tortillas to order. One does corn and the other does flour. They're so amazing.

My Tia Lupe would make tortillas all day long when we visited her house in Pierdas Negras. Beautiful memories for sure.

These look great. Have you made them with nixtamal masa? Love that corn flavour

My husband was friends with 2 boys in high school, he'd sleep over at their house on weekends and their grandma was always in the kitchen, making these - as you can imagine 3 teenage boys, they ate and ate and ate - a very fond memory for my husband!
