🇵🇭 Half Filipino learns truth of U.S. father's plane crash AFTER taking DNA test.

Amerasian Dennis Opao has been looking for his missing biological American father for 53 years, We used an Ancestry DNA test kit to help locate his father. Dennis was born in 1971 in Olongapo, situated directly adjacent to the old US Naval Base in Subic Bay.

Dennis's mother told him his father was a member of the U.S. military once stationed there. Dennis reached out to The Leah and Blair Slog in September 2023, asking for our help in locating his father, little did we know that this would lead us on our most challenging and saddest lost and found documentaries ever told.

This is the true emotional story of what happened to Dennis's father, Jimmy VanBussum, who we found by using a donated Ancestry DNA kit. Dennis's father was based at Cubi Point in Subic Bay and tragically died in a plane crash in 1971 en route to Vietnam from the Philippines. Now after learning Jimmy VanBussum did not have his name on the Vietnam Wall it was our responsibility to help Amy VanBussum get her uncle Jimmy, the rest of the Crew and Cryptologists on Flight RG-407 onto the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and to finally reunite Dennis with his extended long-lost family back in America.

We are trying to help Amerasian Fil-ams reunite with their American fathers.

The Van Bussun family are very good people. Despite not meeting or knowing Dennis they were so keen to let him know that they accepted him as a relative.
