Holy cow... I didn't know that derivative came from this process!
My deepest gratitude to you, Sir, for explaining this in an intuitive way.

that's a cool technique to find the derivative... but, on which bases do we proceed this technique in other words, when is it unsuitable to use this technique where we end up with incorrect answer ?
thanks

Please square root of 1 is +1or -1' two limits may .. you can approach the sine curve near zero from up and down .

Thank you! That's great! I would ask if the answer is not infinitive?

our calc prof made us come up with that derivative and I thought I was going to die!! Now I am in calc 2 and I found more reasons to die.. (series for example)

Sorry but this is full of formal and algebra mistakes that a teacher shouldn't do. Variable substitution with the same name is just something to confuse any student. Don't do x= sin x just use z= sinx and all is much easier to understand. But the biggest mistake is saying that anyone can take the square root in both sides of an equation and keep an identity. This is just wrong. At least put a +/- in the equation and explain why we can choose the + or the - option. Don't "skip" these points because these are the points that in future students get mistakes. The overall limite could change into -1 if not properly explained. An implication is not the same as an equivalence. And btw I'm no teacher and my college classes were long time ago.
