With SpaceX developing a private version of Starlink for the military you'd almost think the US military could/would move things quicker citing strategic importance

A delay by the FAA to ensure they aren’t hurting the environment? Gosh, it seems everyone I know visits the sand around the launch site and is intimately familiar with it. Such a big part of our lives, that square mile of sand. Remember how it was all we talked about before SpaceX went out there? No? Lol.

I don't understand the issue with the water deluge system on to the local environment. Hurricanes and other storms drop much more water into the wetlands on a regular basis.

3:15 the water discharged isn't toxic, but it's fresh water. I don't know the normal rain fall in that area, but I think the local flora could be affected if most of the ground water is brine or even sea water and the plants are adapted to that salinity.

On the other hand, it might be that the FAA is also crossing all the Is and crossing all the Ts by updating the statement and denying the opposition any chance to sue for not having the new plate in the considerations.

Leave it to Firefly to get you out of the world in a pinch.

This is a remarkable achievement and relevant not just for military purposes, but also for servicing space stations in a hurry.

Thanks for the update and congratulations on 300 editions. It was a shame about the loss of the second stage of the electron rocket this morning I hope they are back up and running soon.

I'm all about SpaceX and its capabilities. But Firefly going from notification to launch in 24hrs is a whole new level of badassery! Between Firefly and SpaceX, I think we've got David and Goliath covered. You Rock!

Pretty sure more fresh water is dumped in the area from a normal rainstorm than what they can dump in a years worth of launches and tests

Hey Felix and community,
the great animations of a starship immersed in the atmosphere, shows us once again what extreme requirements this machine has to master. And this as only one act in a long chain of requirements. If all this should work out only rudimentarily, then definitely a celebration is to be proclaimed. Greetings Matze

In regards to the SHB methane tanks being individually tested, I think of why the booster’s methane system as a whole is tested. They test the system as a whole to ensure it can withstand the load, to check it for leaks, and many other things. I believe the testing of the individual tanks implies some troubleshooting process trying to locate a leak or vulnerability they’ve detected.
