Technique in Powerlifting/Olympic Weightlifting is EXTREMELY technical. Not sure if we can say it's 60% technique 40% strength. Just so that it might be more about being in the right starting position and lifting

It IS amazing the Chinese do so well. Coming from a culture where strength sports is not the norm....most popular sports for Chinese (from China or having immigrated to the US/Canada) are badmington, ping pong and kung fu. But not weightlifting...they seem to excel is most olympic sports (e.g. gymnastics, swimming, weightlifting...). Any one that has the odd notion that Chinese can't be athletic should watch the olympic games.
