The Sober Barkeep was created to talk about and review the world of non-alcoholic beverages. As more and more of these drinks are available, we will look at the styles and approaches that different companies take in creating non-alcoholic beer, wine and spirits. I’m a big IPA fan, and I’m not sober though I do like taking time away from booze now and again. This is my go-to n/a beer. I love it 👏🏼

You mentioned "full body... full mouth beer". I think that's a good way to describe this. I really enjoy drinking this beer. Athletic does a very good job.

Thx Brian. Couldnt agree more. This is the beer I had at a restaurant that got me obsessed with na ipas. It's fantastic. Sometimes I sleep on it as it's so readily available but it's one of the best. Only rivaled by it's big brother, free wave.

Hey Brian, I don't know if you've tried it yet, but Athletic Brewing's Upside Dawn is another fantastic tasting beer, total beer mouth feel, it's a golden ail that I think you'd have a hard time distinguishing from a alcoholic beer, very good !

I totally agree with you on this one. It's my goto. The Hazy AF is equally good. Partake has an IPA that is close.... Very close. But this one is hard to beat.

I totally agree with you! I'm an Upside Dawn fan and like you, don't usually drink IPAs. But I recently got a single Run Wild at the Total Wine to try it out, just like you, out of curiosity, and I liked it! I'm not sure I'd keep it stocked in my. house but if I was out and it was on the menu, I'd order it and happily drink it! Thanks for all of your fair and no-hype reviews. I think we have a similar palate so I tend to agree with you a lot.

From my tasting various non alcoholics in the past months, I have experienced the same. Many non-alcoholics have a bit of a watery taste. They are much better than they used to be (10 years ago or so), but there is loads of room for improvement.

Have you tried Cerveza Atletica from Athletic Brewing? It's my favorite of their beers that I've tried. I rate it a 5 out of 5.
