LAST PALACE OF OTTOMAN EMPIRE || Dolmabahçe Palace Istanbul || ISTANBUL THINGS TO DO

In today's video, I visited the magnificent Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul Turkey. The Dolmabahce Palace (also known as Dolmabahçe sarayı) was ordered by the Empire's 31st Sultan, Abdülmecid I, and built between the years 1843 and 1856. It was the last palace of the Ottoman Empire and sadly the place where the last sultan was exiled from. The Dolmabahçe Palace is in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul and is definitely a must-visit attraction when in this magnificent city. If you're looking for things to do in Istanbul then consider visiting the Dolmabahce Palace.

In this video, I take you around the magnificent gardens of the Dolmabahce Palace, and Harem cafe. You can also see the place where the last Ottoman Sultan was exiled from. Unfortunately, it is forbidden to film inside the palace, therefore we are unable to show you the Dolmabahçe interiors. But you can hear me explain the various different rooms and precious artifacts I saw within the palace. The Dolmabahce Palace tickets that I purchased included entry to the Harem, where the Sultans' wives and children lived.

We reached Dolmabahce Saray via the Istanbul tram located at the Kabatas stop in Besiktas. We paid 150 lira for the combined palace and Harem ticket.

The Ottoman Sultans previously lived in the Topkapi Palace (also known as Topkapı Sarayı). Both these palaces are worth visiting when in Istanbul as they showcase remarkable architecture, grandeur, and opulence.

After watching Payitaht, this is just sad to watch. The current state of our ummah... all of this is related if not directly the consequences of the fall of the caliphate

I've wanted to visit this great palace for a few years now and am saving up to do so, soon. I do wonder what it smells like inside the palace. I used to work to help restore and document large old buildings and know that they can take on unusual smells over the years, colonies of distinct bacteria and fungi. I understand this is also the case for other palaces, and that the odors aren't always pleasant. Dolmabahce is so large, however, I imagine that different parts of it would smell differently. Have you noticed any odors while inside? Cheers!
