This is very similar savory pancakes called moong dal chilla in India we add paneer indian cottage cheese…mimic of tofu …this looks so so tempting…now I have idea to put kimchi or some leaf to get nice looking pancakes…thankyou always ❤❤❤❤

This is one of my favorite dishes! Key is to not blend the mung beans too much. Some texture for crunch is ideal. You can’t be shy about the frying oil. It needs oil to get a good crust. And I always make a sauce to serve on the side- soy sauce with a dash of vinegar and green onion.

It is nice how so many cultures have variations of fritters made out of dal/lentils. Here in Bangladesh, there is this popular snack which is made almost 30 days in a row in ramadhan called piyaji/piyaju. Onion and lentils fritter with spices, deep fried.
