Mathematical Statistics As A Global Enterprise: PC Mahalanobis and RA Fisher with Stephen Stigler

On the 125th Birth Anniversary of one of the greatest Indian statisticians, P. C. Mahalanobis, Professor Stephen Stigler from the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago shared the story of his relationship with R.A. Fisher, the greatest statistician of that era, over the period between 1930 and 1950. This talk was held at the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi Centre.

Great lecture. I have a letter from Mahalanobis' wife to Fisher's wife (my grandmother) in 1962 or 3 sending comfort after Fisher's death. Mahalanobis had died some years previously.
