One thing to add is that this is a book for graduate students, best if you've already had undergraduate stats and probability. Plus do a google search, there are a few editions of the book available, some are less expensive than others.

I took a graduate course using the Fourth Edition of this book (Printed in 1978 with a green hardback cover) all the way back in the dark ages of 1987. We went through the entire contents of Hogg and Craig in one 10 week Quarter - that was intense. It was the most enjoyable math course I ever took, and I still have fond memories of how much I learned. Your video inspired me to go grab this book off my shelves (yes I still have it!), and have a nice little nostalgia flashback to all those late nights I had to study very hard to keep up with the pace of the course. The final was a week-long take home exam in which we had to design an experiment, develop a unique statistic to test the hypotheses of our experiment, and then construct a proof that our statistic was sufficient to provide a valid test of our hypothesis. With a lot of hard work I managed to do well learning this material, but I must admit I don't feel my Math skills and knowledge are still up there with the version of me who managed that performance in the course. Thanks for triggering all those great memories!

I learned Mathematical Statistics with the book of John E. Freund Fifth Edition in 1996, also an excellent book. Thank you for the video.
