With all respect, the recipe should not be called/include aglio e olio. Adding mushrooms, and parmigiano makes it a completely different dish.

Also, unrelated to the naming, why not fresh parsley? The garlic is too toasted as well. Adding salt to the oil emulsion is awkward. Simply add more salt to the water instead. Lastly, im not sure how long your pasta was sitting before adding it to the sauce, but both should be ready at the same time.

That garlic was burnt and would taste nasty and bitter.
