I've had several IVs taken out where the nurse wasn't kind/smart enough to use a swab to dissolve the adhesive and can say that it is more painful than the getting stuck 3 or 4 times when they cannot find a vein when putting in the IV.

We couldn't afford Obamacare so we bought a hospital instead.

Really nice and great video. Back when I was a kid about 7 or 8 we lived across the street from a medical family. The fathercwas a Doctor that had his own clinic and small hospital in Yorba Linda, California. He was a old Army - Airforce Doctor and his wife was a RN with a four year BS degree in medicine. Anyway I was taught how to apply band aids and dressings at that age. All I know is she took care of all my medical needs, all I know is she didn't do things to reduce the pain in the procedure. On the up side I learned how not to be a wimp and everything was free, I miss those folks and I learned a lot from them. It served me well in the Service. One day I would love to enroll in one of your classes.

sweet trick with the alcohol pad when removing the band aid. I work on an etu/rehab unit and most of our patients are elderly. I will definitely have to use that next time I remove a bandage!

Excellent video. I try this at home all the time. You have to keep the area CLEAN.

Okay, so at 0:55 you say for us to imagine how you got this imaginary cut on your forehead... well, let me suggest a scenario.  You were sleeping at your desk, dreaming about your next youtube medical video, when MAINEPREPPER calls.  As you jump to your feet to answer the phone, you forget that you fell asleep with your roller-skates on.  (This is because you part-time nurse at the roller-derby.  Nurse by day, roller-derby queen by night - need I say more?)  So as you are falling (or rolling I should say) you reach out in an attempt to stabilize yourself.  Your eyes catch a glimpse of something with a handle, and by reflex you grab onto it.  Unfortunately, this is the handle to a small survival knife which MAINEPREPPER had recommended everyone have.  As the knife approaches your face, you quickly turn your head, just in time to see the case of MREs (also recommended by MAINEPREPPER) at the foot of the stairs - toward which you are now swiftly proceeding.  Well... after a long fall and a big crash, you've got a half-opened case of MREs, a broken survival knife, and a cut forehead.  Final analysis is that MAINEPREPPER is a part of the problem no matter how you slice it, and sleeping with your boots on may be great for a marine, but for a roller-derby queen, sleeping in your skates with MREs at the bottom of the stairs and a survival knife nearby doesn't go together.  Trust me on this one.

Cool video and thank you for reminding me to to add a bandaid. The one thing I dont care for about bandaids is the adhesive doesnt stick on very long especially when u put it on a places on ur hands. I actually carry superglue in my minor cut kit

In construction we just put duct tape on it . When we get home we clean it up .

Aren't you supposed to apply the bandage across the gash rather than along the gash (i.e. perpendicular)?

Thank you for posting this! It's always bothered me so much that people clean a wound and then IMMEDIATELY re -contaminate the area by touching the pad on the bandaid 😒 Great tip with the alcohol wipes too! Thanks again 😊

THANKYOU. COMMON SENSE SHOULD TELL YOU THIS. BUT I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT. DIDN'T USE COMMON SENSE. I ALWAYS LEARN GREAT THINGS FROM YOU, EVEN SOMETHING THAT SIMPLE. GOD BLESS!
