Woh woh woh stop, you _didn't_ know about Minkowski diagrams before you made this series? You are so spot on about this stuff that I assumed you were feigning ignorance while you walk us through a few lectures from the final-year of a physics degree. I actually have a physics degree and I'm delighted and informed by your simulation and narration. With a bit of tidying up and introducing official vocab these videos could go from the best explanation of special relativity I've ever seen (including those I had at university), to the definitive educational video on the topic.

I have long thought you're one of the smartest and most creative people making videos on YouTube (as well as charmingly honest about your editing mistakes), but if you independently discovered Minkowski diagrams in your free time, you're in a whole other league. Did you come up with that derivation for time dilation yourself too? Fantastic stuff, really.

As I understand it, if you derive the correct equations from your model of reality, then your model is correct. Assuming that this is true, I have to congratulate you on the most succinct and simplified demonstration of relativistic effects that I have ever seen. Good sir, I hope the only burden in your life is how sore your hand will be from the sick high fives you get from physics buffs.

Oh man. That was absolutely the best visualization of special relativity. I couldn't conceive all the mind experiments in the Wikipedia, but you simplified it to the limits. And all the paradoxes have been disclaimed! That was awesome, man.

I actually understand this now!...

...sort of

The way you derived the equation with the simulator was really satisfying. Something about formulas based on right triangles is just so mathematically pleasing.

This is the best demonstration I've seen. I applaud you sir, you truly are a gentleman and a scholar!

this was a really good explanation, also i liked how you didn't just take an explanation and showed it but made your own with the visualizer leading to the right conclusions.

I'm studying engineering and this is better than anything we had in our physics class

I already understood most of this, but I could never wrap my head around the squishing, which was done by the simulator.
So yeah, this was excellent.

This simplification is sure to help some poor physics student in the future ^^

Quantum Theory next?

This might be the most educational series on YouTube I've ever seen! :D

Have you released your relativity simulator? I would love to mess with it! :D

That's hard to comprehend, but after pondering and watching the videos 5 times over, I think I got it.

Watching this more than a year later, and I'm starting to realize how satisfying it was to derive that equation. We knew so much about various things it was almost like solving a really easy Sudoku puzzle.

I'm not sure anyone have seen this yet, but picture the values on the left side as a sine value of a certain degree, and picture the values on the right side of a cosine value of that certain degree.
Ex: *0.5* c = *0.8660* seconds
sin30 = *0.5*, cos30 = *0.8660* .

I loved this series. I don't think I'll ever forget how special relativity works now. Thanks so much for making these videos :D

You know what's the wrong thing in all this series? That it ended. Awesome videos dude!!!!
