The Overhand Knot
The Overhand Knot is an important foundation knot that’s easy to tie. It’s a good stopper knot that’s often used to prevent a rope from slipping through a hole or prevent another knot from untying.
The Slip Knot
The Slip Knot is a good stopper knot that’s often used to prevent a rope from slipping through a hole or prevent another knot from untying. It's unique from the Overhand knot because of the ease of untying the Slip Knot by simply tugging the working end free of the knot.
The Half Hitch Knot
The Half Hitch is an unreliable hitch knot but is a foundation for many other knots and is important to learn in order to understand knot structure and identification. It is a variant of the Overhand Knot.
The Two Half Hitches Knot
The Two Half Hitches Knot is a reliable hitch knot. It is a variant of both the Half Hitch Knot and the Overhand Knot.
The Square Knot
The Square Knot is a binding knot used to secure rope around an object. It's also known as the Reef Knot and the Hercules Knot. A reliable binding knot, the Square knot can be used as a bend (knot that ties two ropes together) however it is unreliable as a bend and can slip.
The Clove Hitch
The Clove Hitch is a popular knot and considered one of the top three knots you should know.
The Bowline Knot
The Bowline is a popular knot that provides a secure fixed loop at the end of a working line. It is also considered one of the top three knots you should know.
The Sheet Bend Knot
The Sheet Bend is a popular knot that offers a way to join two lines. It is also considered one of the top three knots you should know.
