We have a Cane Corso too…. Absolutely the sweetest dog ever. He is such a peaceful gentle soul. Truly innocent in every sense. Even strangers dont feel scared after 5 mins of meeting him.

My last dog was a corso, broke my heart when he passed, unless you're a hardcore dog fan they aren't for you. Absolute gentle giant, RIP Leeroy

I had a handsome Cane Corso when my son's were young, fiercely protectively. I was told that I had to train him to listen & obey just like a child. Every single time he was given direction you had to follow through & never slack off. He was 160 lbs & the only way he would've ever hurt my kids was if he stepped on them. He was a gentle giant & sofa/bed hog. RIP~Jake

I'm 23 Italian and my parents decided to get a Cane Corso because it's one of my dad's favorites. We had him for around 9 years and he passed away just over a couple years ago so I had him in our garden for my teen years. I loved him to bits even if he was a handful sometimes. I never could bring him for a walk since he was very high energy and clearly over the breed standards (at his prime was about 70kg so 150lbs and always extremely tall, standing on his legs and resting his front paws on a my 6'1" dad's shoulders he towered him a lot). The thing about our old dog is that he was an absolute tank and an incredible watchdog for our home, at night he noticed if people goy o close to our fence and you'd see this immense dark brown dog coming out of the bushes with a very deep and loud bark. I loved him a lot and I had a special relationship with him because to me he was a XXXL puppy who loved cuddles and attention. He would always respect me when I said stop as soon as I noticed he would get too Jumpy. Anyways, RIP Nerone, I miss touching your cheeks and biooping your snout

I had 3 cane corsos living in my house, they were very nice protective family dogs, no aggression and very social they are very good at communicating with body language and very smart

My uncle was literally handed a cane Corso puppy by some lady who definitely bred them. She was tiny and covered in fleas. Had little patches of fur missing. She hated women for a while but she turned into the sweetest lap dog I've ever seen. Also, he hired someone to train her in German lol

Something to keep in mind with very large dogs is that they tend to have short lifespans. It's common for people to lose their Great Danes after only 8 to 10 years, due to nothing more than normal dog issues.

My friend bred Great Danes. He said the worst part about it is that their life expectancy is pretty low, meaning you'd have to say goodbye a lot sooner than you'd want.

I have a cane corso he’s 11 years old now, I’ve never been a professional nor a trainer and I’ll tell ya my Bruce would never be too much. Every pet is life changing

My dad had two cane corsos. They were the sweetest siblings ever. But they definitely didn’t know their size. The girl would run at you ass first for butt scratches and take out your knees in the process!

I appreciate how candid he is. Some people don't know what they are getting into.

I lived in a house with three Great Danes. Hearing the doorbell always resulted in all three racing through the house or gallop down the stairs like a pack of horses. They were such sweethearts, full of personality and always curious. One in particular always made sure to wake me up each morning by slathering her very wet and rough tongue all over my face. I miss you Cleo.
For people who weren’t familiar with them they were fear-inducing simply because of their size and their tendency to look at everything that’s unfamiliar to them with intense stares! But yeah their size required your constant vigilance if you didn’t want to lose any family heirlooms off the dining room table.

My corso is a big hug baby and loves kids and playing. He listens and is well behaved. I love these dogs. ❤

I met a Cane Corso/American Bulldog mix as a child. She was the scariest dog I've met to this day. She wasn't even *that* mean, just the size of her muscles & head. Her owner fed her raw chickens & homemade meals. She was outside on a chain, & I had no doubt she could snap that chain easily. I believe she was protecting an old farmers "grow"... The only reason I can think of that they had that dog outside protecting the doorway to that barn... she was 120lbs+ & spotted but mostly white... Sounded like a Harley revving up when she barked. I can't imagine her getting pissed off at something and trying to get her off of something... They really are absolute units.

My aunt had a Tibet massive, coco was the sweetest thing. A true gentle giant, but his bark made the house shake.

A single Tibetan mastiff can KILL a PACK of wolves? No sir, not unless they are all puppies.

I can’t speak for male cane Corsos but my female Bella was the most amazing Dog I’ve ever owned. The bond I shared with her made my children jealous. Training started day one and it was her favorite thing to do. I do agree this breed of dog requires you to actually be a pack leader. You can’t expect this dog to be okay with no constant training.
