My family LOVES gentle giant dogs. My favorites are Great Pyrenees, Leon Bergers, and Newfoundlands!

I would have liked to see the Dogue de Bordeaux on this list. I got one and she is friendly towards everybody both people and animals. She is gentle around kids and elderly too. As for most dog breeds socializing is the key to a friendly animal.

Personally I think we could cross the Newfoundland with a Rottweiler or a Doberman and get a fiercer looking fuzzy nanny dog with a more protective Edge. Plus it might just turn out to look like a Tibetan Mastiff, but without the aggression and nocturnal barking. Also, this breed would fly under the radar of the "dangerous dog" bans that are ignorantly put in place.

My neighbor breeds bull mastiffs, he uses them for everything, he takes them on his hunts, the protect his sheep, and goats. It’s a small piece of land but it’s the only breed he has or uses. I never seen anybody use one breed. Quite impressive. If they wasn’t so expensive I would buy one, and wait. He literally has puppies that aren’t born or even in the belly sold already, and he only does one female at a time so the wait is probably forever 😂

I love lienburgers a neighbor has one since I met they're dog I've done some research and figured out that they're just too expensive for me... wonderful dogs though...but I'll stick him my gsd

You have pyrene and presa Canario on the thumb mail. Had both, still have two pyrene and will have more. They are super gentle to their people but ruthless to predators..
