Black Widow Spider Is Too Close For Comfort!

Back when I was 11 we lived in a house that had a lot of Black Widow spiders, always treated them with respect, never caused any problem, not the kind of spider that crawls to your bed at night or anything.

I had an extremely close encounter with one of these spiders. When i found an old pepsi can that was a little bent i put my finger in there and pushed the side out so it was its original shape again. After i did that i flipped it upside down and shook it to get the dirt out and there were 3 black widows in there. I jump so stinking bad!

I live in a basement in Utah and I once found a black widow crawling up my leg, I've seen spiders before, but this one made my flip out, but I ended up catching it in a mason jar. I gave it to my biology teacher and he is going to take care of it, so that's cool.

my friend could predict the future. He tried to take a black widow with his bare hand and then he got bit by it and said he is going to die. Then he did.

Was bitten a September 20th 2015. I have broken my ankle, feet, fingers, toes and noes and this bite was worse than all of those combined. I was bitten in the toe within 10 minutes the pain was up to my hips. Within 90 minutes already having a steroid shot and many drugs put into my system the pain was creeping up my spine making me shake, sweat and cry like a baby. We went to the ER with the spider in the bag. The moment they saw the spider they had me skip the line. I was put in a room immediately, I don't remember what they did to me bc I was on a morphine drip for the whole 7 hours I was there. So I was knocked out unless I had to go to the bathroom or they woke me up to take my vitals, give me shots, etc. they wanted to keep me overnight but I had my best friends wedding the next day and knew I had to tough it out and get off the morphine. After the wedding I stayed home and spent the next 10 days in bed rest until the pain was fully gone. It took about 4 days for the pain to be back to just my hips and below and the remaining 6 days to leave my legs. Worst experience of my life by far. And now I am terrified of them.

I once had one walk across my foot. I swear my heart stopped for the entire 3 seconds it took her to walk across. Fortunately, she didn't bite. Thank god!!!

One time, a black widow was sitting on my door. I walked out, screamed, and ran to my car...Pretty sure everyone stared at me...😂

me and my family used to live in Maggy Valley, North Carolina. it was almost a weekly occurrence for my parents to flip their bed sheets and find a mother black widow in their bed. sketchy stuff

Once, my family and I were letting our dog out and we heard some dry, fallen leaves rustle on the ground. We got a light and looked for the source of the sound. We then found out that it was a black widow taking residence right outside our door under some vinyl siding.

Since we had animals that went outside (and ourselves), we got some bug spray and sprayed it down and it kicked over on its back and curled up, like a dead spider.

But, after a little while, it starts to stretch out/twitch its curled legs one by one. It got back up like nothing happened. Literally, back from the dead. Right before our eyes.

Finally, we vanquished the zombie-spider with a drop of a brick.

This was my first, and wildest encounter with a black widow.
