How to fix sticky valves!

This is our best tip for how to fix/avoid having sticky valves!

All jokes aside: the most common cause for sticky valves is lack of playing and tlc.

If you leave your instrument for a long time, it can cause the valves to dry up and stick in place!

If you want to stop them from seizing up, keep your valves clean and oiled. It really is as simple as that. Maintaining your instrument is so important.

We understand that sometimes time gets away from you, especially in the holiday season, and that many of us won’t get to play as often as we would like. If this sounds like you, and you are unable to play for a few weeks:

Simply unscrew your valve caps - this will make them easier to remove if they do stick!

And If you’re in the Richmond, VA, USA area this Wednesday, November 8th: Shoot us a message! We are currently on a US Playtesting Road Trip and will be offering playtesting in your city! We would love to meet you and get a Wessex instrument into your hands ❤️

I never thought of this! I read online I could use a torch, but since my valves were extra sticky, I just started a campfire, and ruined my instrument :(
