Grinding stone for grain. A post goes in its center and an arm guides another stone in a circle

It’s definitely looking like a grinding stone set for a post to be turned inside it

It's a grinding stone for large amounts of grain etc. It had a wooden post come out of the center with a wheel attached that would roll around the inside grinding up the grains.

Its used to mill out the oil in seeds. We use it to this day in villages especially in developing countries like mine

This is 100% a pedestal that contains water for a reflective pool for stargazing, compass of some sort in the middle perhaps.

Where I live there are still some of those. South part of Spain. They are usually install inside windmills of wood, that may be why we don't see much, most of the wood and cloths has been lost due to time

These are quite common a round stone rolled in a circle with a long pole as an axle and a center pivot used to grind grain usually called a miller.

That is a pinion gear .all the teeth are busted off .But if you carefully look on the sides you can still make out the diagonal outlines of the teeth on the lower side of the stone. Cant be a grinder as the hole in the center is square meaning that the gear is fixed and drivin but what the heck was that gear meshed with ? Probably to open a door a big door .

Perhaps a metal spike was mounted in the square knotch, pointed vertically. A sacrificial animal is impaled on the spike, the blood collected from the basin below. It's possible. There certainly were some brutal cultures in the past.

looks like a millstone as in grinder for wheat or even meat but then the real mystery is what is it doing in a temple complex

You insert a pole in the middle and get someone to dance on it.

I was there a couple of weeks ago. My guide, a certified Egyptologist and professional tour guide informed me it was the base of a grain mill. Temple tributes were paid in kind, so often would come in the form of grain, which the priests needed to be able to grind to make their own bread. Someone made an odd comment about the ‘No Entry’ sign — there is nothing the other side of that sign except a fairly dangerous hole in the ground that was probably used for storage — nothing weird or suspicious about it.

I don't understand why the outside is so poorly shaped. These are not the people who build the piramides
