My husband and I go once a month. I have a whole system where the fruits and veggies that go bad first get put in the meal plan first (blueberries, cucumbers, etc.) then save the more hardy veggies for later on in the month (brussel sprouts, potatoes, carrots, etc).

This may seem obvious to some, but when I figured this out when I first moved out I felt like a genius. Our grocery bill is around $200 a month for the household.

We mostly go every other week. Sometimes we stretch it to 3 weeks. We freeze bread and by long lasting produce in addition to frozen.

Every other week. I do a major shop in the beginning of the month, when I get my social security and a fill in shop two weeks later.

Once a month? How is that even possible? No fruits or vegetables?

So I dont overspend grocery shopping or wherever I go I leave the debit card at home
And only take the exact cash for whatever I'm purchasing

I can’t go less often than about twice a week. I have a euro size fridge, and produce is important to my family’s nutrition and values.
Even with a normal size fridge it would be weekly for that reason.
I do think ordering grocery pickup or sticking like glue to a list helps keep budget in check.

I usually go 3 times a week. I just limit myself to just a couple meals at a time
