How To Meet Other Lesbians

Do you ever wish it was easier to meet other lesbians?

If so, you’re not alone.

It’s not always obvious which women are romantically attracted to other women.

Not everyone has gay friends, not everyone uses dating apps, and not every town has gay hangouts where people can congregate.

And even if they did, not everyone feels comfortable hanging out in bars or other places that are oriented around drinking and partying.

But hot lesbians are everywhere. It’s just a question of where to go to find them.

I appreciate this where to go list, because it’s so easy to forget that there is a lot more to commonalities involved in meeting others in our communities. Shared interests I realize is an essential piece to finding lasting connections. I live in Asheville, NC which is one of those LGBTQ towns. Since I rarely drink anymore I find myself less exposed to new social situations. I’m guessing this year as the pandemic seems to fade into the background, friends will resume pot lucks and gatherings. Thanks Jordana!

I agree that continually going to places where there will be new people is a good approach. It's hard as an introvert but I am working on it.

These are all great places. Its hard when you're an introvert but your soul mate isnt going to just fall on your lap while youre sitting on the couch, you have to learn to mingle.

I live in a town with a lesbian gay club but I never was one to feel like it's an ideal place to meet friends. And, I don't use dating apps, so this feeling that I'll never meet anyone, friends or otherwise, is starting to sink in, and the life I imagined I'd have fades into the background. I'd like to get out more but I don't know ANYONE. lol. So there's that. Well, I came across a group once but no one makes the initiative to hang out - ever.

I have found since becoming a mom which was 17 years ago my views changed on what was important and my values and morales became much greater than they ever were before. I am no longer in the bar scene therefore it’s been a lot harder to meet anyone. The bar scene was never a great place anyways to meet because a high percentage were regular drinkers and no one wants an alcoholic . 🎉

I live in the Southern High Plains and I work in production agriculture. I don't want to leave my work and my culture. I don't know how to meet femmes at all and my first girlfriend told me I was too hillbilly for any woman to want me.

The US must be a different planet, because the idea that you will chat up a stranger at a museum or art gallery is alien to the British culture. When you are isolated you also don't get invited to any birthday parties. XD

How exactly does this work if you're alone and have no friends at all? I tried apps, but the amount of dates I got in 10+ years I can count on one hand, and they were a waste of time, but the only ones that wanted to meet me. Also, I can smile at women, but most of the time that's it. I don't know if I like a woman just from looks, so I wouldn't know who I should smile at.
1. Concerts - have bought tickets. Now what?
2. Politics and me don't mix
3. Libraries/bookshops - I don't read much
4. I don't have friends at all, and no social network
5. Have played football and tennis for years, and also a Lesbian badminton club, and never had any interest from any women
6. Art galleries - will try but the events are always "queer" so not just for Lesbians.
7. Seems a bit boring, but could try.
8. Have been doing them for a couple of years and noone talks much
9. Do classes as a Lead because I love Salsa, but most are not Lesbians, or if they are they come as a couple.
10. Same place as fitness classes #8, and noone talks much there except older straight women and reception staff.
11. Hmm not sure if there are Lesbian groups. Will investigate.
12. There is a GL business club. I've gone, but they tend to all know eachother and with their friends, or older Lesbians.
13. Have been to a Lesbian group that runs self-improvement sessions, but most are just coming out or still closeted, and not evolved enough...they end up with other women because I'm already past that stage of life and looking for a strong, mature, evolved and self-assured woman.
14. There's no reason to mingle with teenagers to mid 20's.

17. Could look into local events. I'm scared it will be *queer" not Lesbian. We have major events like MQFF and Midsumma, but I haven't met any women who are interested in me despite being volunteer plenty of times and attending alone at dozens of events.
