Honestly from the first episode Ruby is talking about what's happening on the internet and how everyone is like this and that is way too true and when she jumps off the bridge I was crying so much

I mean that's accurate. Twitter is indeed very toxic and probably the social media app where you can receive the most have

They even included correct suicide hotlines for the regions it released in at the end of the episode
Really goes to show both the gravity of the situation and the level of care they show

The episode based on a real event. An japanese actor who played in a TV Show was bullied from Fans and made suicide.

I understand what you're trying to say, but I don't think "snap" is the right word to describe Akane's actions, because it makes it sound like she lost control of herself in her emotions and did what she did in a fit of rage or desperation. She was desperate to leave her mark in the show due to external pressures so she followed the director's advise to oppose Yuki but fumbled and scratched Yuki's cheek by accident due to nerves.

People, be kind. At the end of the day being kind instead of being an asshole could go a long way.

For the people saying that other anime are more gut-wrenching:
It's not the fact that the person's gonna die, or it's gore, or bloody scenes. It's because she's still living but going through pain. They say that dying is more peaceful than living with trauma, being bullied, pressured, etc.

In this context, this isn't the only depressing thing about the entertainment industry. Scandals are popular out there, and personal problems happen too. Even if they don't get hate, some people are perfectionists and thinking that they did something wrong can pressure them their whole life, especially if they can't rant it. If you've heard of Ensemble Stars, you'll probably understand too. It's more directed to the idol industry, but same thing. Difference is that, their suicidal thoughts come from (mainly) personal/family problems. Well, no matter where the problem came from, you can't exactly say that “this isn't gut-wrenching. Other anime can be worse than this.” because the person that's suffering it feels more gut-wrenched than the watchers. Even if they're not real-life people, imagine yourself in Akane's shoes. It's as terrible as bullying (even of the bullying is a joke by stupid people).

Oshi No Ko has portrayed Twitter to perfection to the point no other fiction works ever got that close in terms of realism.

We as consumers need to remember that the PEOPLE we consume are human beings. Flaws and all. It’s unfair to expect them to be super humans.

istg this episode got me scared as shit, like bro- the concept of suicide is very painful, full of sorrow and pain. people use it as a way of escaping their problems and this is how this episode accurately depicts it.

I think people often missed the point here, there is no pleasing haters if they hate you meaning they're not a fan, so stop thinking about them.

That's what I learn on my school day, I just ignore the bullies, I challenge them to do their worse, if they think they're pushing me for doing suicide and self harm they're wrong, they need to hurt me I won't be giving them that.

The fact people are mad about the author doing this says a lot more about them than it does about the creator. These people should be grateful that the writer brought this to their attention and should be angry with themselves.

It's unnerving because it hits not just close to home, the hit is *_inside_* the damn home. Not just Twitter too, it's everywhere.
