Living with our parents as a married couple was the worst experience of my life.

I gotta agree with Dave on this one. My husband and I rented an apartment for 3 years before buying our first home. I have cousins that married around the same time, moved back in with their parents and they still haven’t moved out. It’s like they get too comfortable with the cheaper rent, help with groceries, etc. If you believe you’re ready for marriage then you should also be financially able to support yourselves.

It’s nothing like having your own crib.

Get your own. This maybe hard but its better for you and wife.
When my dad decided to stay with his parents then became comfortable for 20 years. All his decisions were always influenced by parents and dad never learned how to man up. Mom and us, his children, were frustrated. Please get your own place.

Notice how Dave usually goes “woohoo” after the baby coming is announced but this time he didn’t lol. I’m guessing because they got pregnant before marriage

Staying at home changed my life! I have a great relationship with my very supportive mum, and it got me started buying properties way earlier than I ever imagined.

For some reason I feel happy for this guy.
I’m sure he’ll do the right thing.

Dave said “ it takes about a year of being married to know how close to your mother in-law to buy” lol he said it with such a straight face lol. I know it’s true though lol .I shall remember that when my son marries and moves lol. Oh Dave your such a gem in this world. Thanks Dave and Team. stay safe you and yours .💛

Rent an apartment. Buying a house is overrated.

So true about how you need to know how close to your mother-in-law you’ll want to live 😂

Such a cultural difference between the West and send East here, we have generations of a family living under one roof be it the poorest or literally the Richest man in India and Asia.

Get. Your. Own. Place. Expensive but its so worth it. Your own place with YOUR rules

"Takes a year to figure out how far from your mother-in-law you should buy". The longer you go, the farther the house goes too!

I don’t understand folks who start families but not independent enough to want to live on their own. Like do you know what it means to be a parent? It’s a TON of responsibilities.

He should get their own place. Do not live with parents.

Me and the wife moved in with my parents after our lease ended to save for a house. Payed off my student loans and two credit cards, and saved 50k in a year thus far. If we can stomach another year or a few we will be looking to buy a house cash. It sucks we are basically the maids, cooks and maintenance crew for my parents. It also sucks that I don’t have my own living room to put my feet up..but I’m saving a fortune. No mortgage and a combined income of 120/year sounds nice.
