I would buy the 64GB model along with a 1TB 2230 drive.

They’re as low as $80 on Amazon right now so for around $40 more than the discounted 512GB model, you’ll get double the storage which is a big win.

1TB Micro SD cards cost around $100 give or take so that’s why I think the 64GB is the way to go.

If you really enjoy the experience and feel that nagging pull to get an OLED, you can sell your LCD for around $250-$270 right now on eBay so you won’t be paying much to give the Deck a test run and then you can put your recouped costs towards an OLED, which I think is definitely worth it.

Steam Families is Out Now!

Families can have 5 members

They can take advantage of games that you purchase as the Family leader and saves are separated.

You can also play games from your Family Members' libraries, even if they’re online playing another game.

You can’t play the same game at the same time.

Drawback: If you leave a Family as an adult account, you have to wait 1 year before joining or creating a new one.

You can kick people from a Steam Family

If a family member cheats with your copy of the game, you will also be banned from online in that game, so be careful

Family Shared games can be played offline.

Non Steam Launchers Gets a Huge Upgrade

With the latest update to NonSteamLaunchersDeck, users will be able to back up their game’s saved data with a new tool called Ludusavi which has been directly integrated into the software for ease of use.

Ludusavi is for games that are not directly from Steam and/or lack Steam Cloud saves. The new tool comes bundled with Non-Steam Library, so it is easy to integrate the tool. To start backing up games’ saved data, players have to use the tool to scan their library and back up their games.

As someone who started with an LCD (64gb to 1Tb upgrade) and then switched to OLED 1Tb, I completely agree with getting the OLED right out of the gate if you can. Battery life alone makes it worth it, but there are so many other improvements that make it a great value.

I bought the 64gb version originally and had nothing but problems eith that drive. Download speeds never topped 80mbps, rarely could resume from suspend. Had to reflash it twice. Swapped it to a 1tb sabrent rocket, and its been great ever since.

I just got the 512gb one since its a steal. I paid $364 (thats with sales tax included) which is $14 more than my Switch OLED, so hopefully it arrives soon.

I must say I was on and off on your Videos. But after watching this Video I once again have to say that people like you are the reason why Steam Deck is, and will always be, the best Handheld. The community of this device is just so cool. I love it.

I’d suggest against the top of the line OLED with the etched screen. Especially if you mostly play at night in bed like I do. The etching on the glass creates a bloom around the light parts of the display, like white text on the pure black OLED background in many games. It makes the text much harder to read and blurs the graphics a lot.

Id suggest the middle OLED model for most folks, and then the top of the line etched version only for those who play outdoors during the day a lot.

I returned my limited edition orange one that I loved because the blooming on the etched glass was just too much to play my favorite games. I miss the smoked clear and orange accents of the device, but the normal less expensive glass is much better in most scenarios.

Still have my lcd model which has a 1tb ssd and a 1tb sd card. Extremely happy with it atm and will probably upgrade and sell it off once the steam deck 2 comes out

oled is the best I got the 1tb a month ago. Runs great and the best system I bought. I use it while at the park watching the kids, Waiting rooms and anytime I need to wait and do nothing. Great father's day gift.

I bought the 512gb OLED a couple of months ago and am still trying to figure this thing out! LOL! I’m an Apple gal, never had a Linux device, so am definitely in over my head, but have played a couple of games on it and have figured out how to use it as a remote player for my PS5. I think I’m going to love it.

Thats wild these people talking about the steam deck is dying. This thing is so advanced it blows my mind. I have sea of thives running at medium setting 60fps i have dying light running at high 60fps. If you want to play the newest games its maybe worth getting the newest console. But if you want gaming freedom go get a steamdeck and never look back.

I had a Q1 LCD deck, which got swapped out with RMA new one at about 9 months. Been working perfectly since then and I play like 2-3 hrs a day since then. I just started playing my desktop again today after 2 years because frostpunk 2 just dropped.
