You read right! Watch this video and see how giving all adult citizens $1000/mo 'no-strings attached' will end up saving the USA a lot of money compared to what we are doing now!! We can do so by not cutting ANY current social/safety-net programs too!

The robots are coming, like it or not, and to say that everyone must work or starve while advocating that a few people get all the money is beyond stupid.

I know I'm a little late. I wanted to bring up my concerns with UBI. First I should state the end goal I'm interested in is a complete removal of the believably of begging. I'd like it to be that if you saw a beggar you could be sure they either squandered their money or wanted money for something excessive. So that would mean something like UBI and Universal Healthcare combined.

Now for my concern. There were several times I had tracked an increase in the price of low end rent with an increase in minimum wage. These were places where the offer was to rent a bedroom or something similar. The amount of increase in rent was congruent to the increase in minimum wage. So, one worry that I have is that this will be an other wealth transfer where the middle class has some money moved to the lower class, and then the lower class has every dollar they don't need to survive squeezed out of them by the upper class.

Possible solutions: consumers union for lower class. Give the bargaining power of labor unions for the consumer side also. We could also go for government regulation of prices for product and services for the lower income, but I think that could be gamed by the political system more easily than a consumer union. It would make it possible to drive the cost of living down enough that people in low income could actually save up, own some land themselves if they're up for it.

Let me know what you think.
