You do know even the Swiss rejected this idea completely knowing that it was a truly bad idea.

Still following this and still interested. Agree a well implemented and sustainable UBI would address poverty and simplify welfare.

Would you give this stupidity up already? This is getting really annoying.

People would only have more children than they could afford. Placing them back into poverty no matter how hard they worked.

UBI is truly necessary. Poverty and homelessness are on the rise, especially in states like California. Thank you AEI for this video it is a good proof that universal basic income isn't just a liberal idea.

I think working is a good thing. I think that if people were to have UBI they would become lazy. Humans are lazy and gross. They would buy chips and beer, eat and get drunk all day and night and it would be a roman debauchery. Plus, it's not economically secure at all that the money they spend will return back to our economy. People will travel elsewhere with that and spend it in other countries. Switzerland, one of the richest countries in the world wanted to pass the bill, they voted on it and the majority said 'No UBI' because they know it'll be harsh on their economy and people know that.

Is it at all possible to get this discussed in a manner more in depth than a 1 minute snippets?
I'm reading articles and learning about it, but many won't look as far as I do. What I'm reading seems to point positively; but so much more information, as well as a larger audience, could be gained from an in-depth video.
Also, continuing to only endorse it this way, rather than a full dialog, keeps a perception that this is just a sales pitch with no substance to those who don't want to research the idea.

It eliminates homelessness which is an absolute shame we are sending a penny to Saudi Arabia or Israel while we have homeless Veterans in America!

You really should rename the video to: "how to bankrupt your country."
Greetings from Switzerland.

It is a good idea. Don't listen to these people.

How about cost? Costs money to give free money for no reason.

How is it moral or fair for someone making 29, 000 to get a 10k benefit, but those making 30, 000 do not?
What kind of "incentive" does that set up?

You can't eat universal basic income.
Somebody has to work for that.

So lets compute this lol in Switzerland they were planning to give $2560 for adults and $640 for Children now if we apply that to the US lets just say 50% are children of around 330 million people... thats about $422.4 billion for adults and for children thats around $105.6 billion. So thats $528 billion per month or around $6.3 trillion per year lol

A universal basic income is a neat idea when the robots take over the majority of the jobs, but that's not this day.

Poverty cannot be eliminated since poverty is simply a calculation of below what income is a person considered impoverished. A person earning below the poverty line in the USA would, if earning the same amount in say Pakistan or Chile, be one of the top 1% of earners.

People would then choose to spend the free money they were given by the state, taken by others in the country. This choice would lead them to poverty. We can give everyone a million dollars in the USA, and in one year there will be poor people and rich people. The answer is not to give things away.

I think only children should be the benefactor of UBI. Because the cost of raising children should not be seen as a burden to would be parents. Dont know about the math for each nations....hahaha
