This was not his fault at all. There is NO REASON that a real gun should’ve ever been on set alone handed to the actor as a damn prop. If he’s not someone who isn’t familiar with real guns you wouldn’t notice the difference and from what I’ve heard there’s not much of one from the props so it’s practically impossible to tell unless you distinctly know what both feel like. There should have never been a live LOADED gun on set someone set him up I 100% believe that. It’s such a sad situation and not the first time it’s happened you’d think they’d learn by now.

No matter if he pulled the trigger or not. How can he possible be found guilty, who ever was in controle of the prop gun. They are responsible.

Ok, but if he did pull the trigger, i mean how could he possibly know that would happen?? I doubt he expected a prop to be Loaded!

Why are these props able to cause physical harm in the first place

Somebody pissed off someone important. It happened with Jason Lee, too.

I really don’t think he is responsible at all regardless of the trigger. It was a prop and it was not his job to determine if it was real and loaded with real ammo. They need to charge the person who’s job it was.

I can’t imagine how horrible this would feel. I don’t believe he is to blame but I know he probably hurts knowing he played a part in her death.

I thought prop guns were just made of plastic? Not real ones? And that they just added in the sound effects in post in editing. There obviously either way shouldnt be any bullets in the prop gun. The fact that it was seems like an oversight on the production team. Not necessarily Alec. I would think this would qualify as manslaughter but I'm not a lawyer or a cop.

We all know he won't do jail time. There are separate laws for the rich and famous than there are four the working class and poor. He's got that rich privilege.

The actor is not responsible for what occurred.

I was holding the gun... I pulled the trigger... but I am not responsible for my actions... umm, yeah, okay... you are the only one responsible for this... it was in your hands...

He may not have meant to do it but its his fault. He hired the person who took care of the guns. She was irresponsible and had been using live ammo in the guns the day before. There are all kinds of safety procedures that were not followed. Including checking the to make sure the fake ammo was infact fake.
There needs to be another rule added that says any actor that handles a gun on set is certified on gun safety. Actors should also be responsible of checking the gun and ammo.

The biggest mistake was also the arms master not securing that weapon one prop guns do not fire they are made of plastic or rubber the gun that discharge was a actual gun that fires actual ammo which at lunch some of the crew was using it for target once again a prop gun does not and cannot fire ammo or blanks those guns are actual guns so quit calling this gun a prop it was a real gun only real guns fire ammo
