Giant Dog Refused to Leave Dollar Store

Bradenton Florida police were called out to assist store clerks in removing a 135-pound dog who refused to leave! Workers at the store needed to close up and couldn’t lock the doors with the dog inside. Taking the dog, whose name they later found out is Bentley, out of the store proved to be a challenge. The ties the first officer on the scene tried to use just weren’t big enough for him. Thankfully, Bentley had a microchip, which successfully reunited him with his family.

He is very comfortable with a lot of people around him, so he is definitely a family dog that is being taken good care of at home.

I can't imagine his family wasn't already looking for him. They were probably driving around thinking there is no way they could miss him. But Bentley was busy hanging out in the store. Lol.

I think he got out of the yard, got lost, and wound up in the area around the store and remembered because he might have previously been there with the owner. It was the only familiar place he could have gone to in order to look for his owner, so he did.

Honestly respect to the store owner for not just forcing him out and instead trying to get him home. The poor little guy would have gotten hit by a car if they didn’t take the time to call someone and just threw him out in a hurry to close up. And he’s a smart dog because he knew staying in a place with lots of people would be his best way of getting home.
