Apology Accepted Captain Needa

The most noble thing anyone in Star Wars ever did was accept full responsibility and apologise.

Talk about manning up. I have total respect for Needa. He could have just as easily shifted the blame to anyone serving under him on the bridge. Instead, he probably saved countless lives by taking the blame. And the cherry on top was him personally apologizing to Vader face to face.

The older I've gotten, the more I admire Captain Needa. He knows he's going to die. He's doing what a leader should. He's taking it on himself and he's sparing the men underneath him. Vader shouldn't have killed him. He was a capable officer and was fooled by an unorthodox and reckless maneuver that even Vader didn't expect.

What a thoughtful scene. Upon making his earnest and heartfelt apology, it was such a shame that Captain Needa fell pray to one of his many asthma attacks. Being the compassionate leader that he is, Vader not only accepted his apology, he had his servants pick him up off the floor to take him to the doctor's.

Why? What did you think was happening?

I always respected Captain Needa for taking the responsibility and not blaming someone under him. Grand Admiral Thrawn would love to have him under his command.

Captain Needa was a boss. He was a Veteran officer from the clone wars and actually commanded the ship that went toe to toe with General Grievous’s Invisible Hand in the battle for Coruscant. And in this scene, even though he did everything he possibly could he even admitted when he failed and took full responsibility knowing the unforgiving nature of Darth Vader and even went out of his way to apologies to him personally, probably knowing he would die in the process.

Needa was exactly what the empire needed. A honestly captain that recognised his failure and instead of throwing it onto his crew, he personally apologize too vader's face despite knowing his reputation. Most officers would gloat about how good they are and then try too blame the men under them in a video call with Vader.
Granted their is a difference between losing a single battle and losing the Falcon when its just sitting in the palm of your hand, i dont think any amount of honor or selflessness would save you.

The low key glee and amusement you can hear in Vader's voice during this scene, specifically in the way he streches out the 'apologeeee' in "apology accepted" is just.. oof. Perfection, chef's kiss, whatever. <3

I wonder if those two guys who take the body have any other job or if their primary job is to follow Vader around and drag away the bodies.
