Managed to meet the actor who played Admiral Piett at a convention :) really nice guy, his character was definitely the best Imperial Officer in the series

The way he says it makes me feel like he had respect for him and that he may have been friends or looked up to him. He looks shocked that he actually died and is struggling to hold back his emotions by simply calling him a fool and seemed disappointed that someone of his stature would fail when it mattered most.

Piett made one of the best calls on that ship ever focusing all batteries is the only thing that could have saved him and his crew but they didn’t do it in time. Piett is forever a genius

I feel like the expression on his face and in his eyes almost tell a different side than his words, while he speaks ruefully about Piett his face implies that he's deeply saddened by it.

When I first saw the scene playing the game, it gave me chills seeing the battle from a different point of view and having Admiral Versio acknowledge Piett

Piett was actually pretty good. Even with the shield down if it wasn't for the rebel pilot making a kamikaze run the executor had a good chance of still surviving and taking hits. But it was that sacrifice run into the bridge.
