no 1 tip for a beginner: Gear can never replace training. Learned this the hard way. Get a pair of comfy shoes - > run.

Nice video for beginners, could we get a bike 101? A video explaining different parts of the bike and some of the variations in part sizes would be helpful.

as a total noob myself, you forgot the two most important things (except nice shoes)!
i rely heavily on my phone and headphones!
i use the strava app to track my run (route, distance, speed and such) and the C25K app to tell me when and how to do the intervals ( still not able to run for more than 5 min at a time and far from able to motivate myself to do the intervals without that voice telling and timing me).
headphones are key to hear said voice but also music or podcasts (spotify for me) to distract from boredom or achy tired legs and body. i use my bose ones cus thet fit well and dont have a cord, but get quite sweaty and will upgrade to something lighter and breezier sometime in the future.

and dont forget pockets! the leggings and shorts with pockets are on frequent repeat as its just So Nice to not have to hold my phone and keys!

Guy runner here, always run on leggings or lycra shorts. Super comfy and prevents chafing.

Thank you for this new video, informative and useful as usual. Personally, these days I would add a couple items to the kit: a calendar to count the days left until the lockdown ends, or alternatively a large private park. :)

How long are you using your shoes? I observed that in my shoes regularly after 400 km the sole is worn out, and I am developing foot and leg pain. Changing the shoes early enough was very important!

I live in Mexico. Search for Taraumara, an indigenous tribe in Mexico. They are famous for their long distance running skills. I think many of them went on to compete at the international level. They never use fancy gear. Not even basic running shoes. They either run bare feet or sandals made of use car tires. The idea is to get started. Don´t wait for fancy gear. I am not saying that we should ditch the running shoes and start running barefoot because that tribe does it out of necessity. But I would rather buy whatever I can afford and get started there. Shoes, comfy clothes and run.

Merino whool running socks. Even if you stop running, you'll have nice pairs of socks.

I've been eating a couple of chocolate/ fuel bars on my "long" runs (half marathon) - I know that it's very subjective but is there any advice on how much fuel per hour you should take in on a run and at what min total distance should you actually take fuel on (I could run a long run without food but I've heard advice to train your stomach to eat on the go for when you do long races etc)

I have a question where did all these networks come from and are they connected because based on location I think they are global cycling network (bath england) global moutain bike network (bath England) global triathlon network (bath England) I'm a cyclist only cycling but since you posted the most recent video I commented on your video

Ugh. Just make sure you shoes are comfy, rest between runs, and track your runs with an app. You're here to run and not to spend cash
